We are a creative and energetic family, inspired by art, food and sustainable living.

We designed and managed the build of the cabin ourselves, finishing in 2018. We prioritised being resourceful, ethical and non-toxic in all our decisions. Paulownia trees are a fast growing exotic species and many were growing here. We dropped and milled them for the timber in the cabin’s feature ceiling. The exterior timber of the building is Blackbutt from Thora Valley. The framing is steel or re-salvaged hardwood framing. We used no treated pine. The cabin and our home are mostly solar powered.
